Franciscans traditionally gather to begin the celebration of the Feast of their Founder on the eve of his feast day.
Every October 3 they commemorate his holy passing from this life. Come join in the celebration and be inspired by the life and death of one who was called the most perfect Christian.
Marked with the wounds of the passion of Jesus, St. Francis is revered for his simple following of the Gospel. We who strive to live the Gospel in our own times draw inspiration from one who lived it completely and fully and desired only Jesus.

October 4, 2011, 9:00 AM through 3:30 PM
A Workshop on the Spirituality of St. Francis of Assisi.
This year’s featured speaker is Father John Quigley, OFM. He is a member of the Province of St. John the Baptist (Cincinnati, OH). Together with Richard Rohr, OFM, John was co-leader of the New Jerusalem Community in Cincinnati. In 1982 he became the coordinator of social justice and peace concerns for his Franciscan province.
He was called to Rome in 1988 to be international coordinator of justice, peace making and care for creation. From there he went to Geneva in 1998 as the Director of Franciscans International, a Non-Governmental Organization at the United Nations. He has led a number of pilgrimages to Geneva, Rome and Assisi entitled, “St. Francis and Human Rights” as well as a human rights pilgrimage to Ireland to heal bitter wounds caused by ‘The Troubles.’
He currently serves as a staff member of the Franciscan Pilgrimage Programs, gives retreats and workshops and continues his work as an artist in his studio in Cincinnati.
